Dental Care

Do you know the importance of getting your pets teeth cleaned regularly? Dental disease can result in bad breath, painful chewing, and tooth loss. The bacteria associated with periodontal disease can also travel in the bloodstream to infect the heart, kidneys, and liver. A professional dental cleaning removes not only the visible plaque and tartar on the teeth surfaces, but also the bacteria under the gums.

Haas Animal Hospital recommends yearly dental exams for all pets of all ages. Most pets need to have their teeth cleaned for the first time by the age of 3-4 years old. For all dental cleanings, we run a preanesthetic bloodwork before putting your pet under general anesthesia.

An ultrasonic scaler is used to remove all the tarter and plaque build-up on the teeth. Then we polish their teeth just like your dentist does with your teeth. Finally we apply fluoride to the teeth.

Keeping your pet’s mouth healthy allows your pet to lead a longer, happy life. To help with the cost of teeth cleaning, we other 10% off during the months of February, July, and November.
